Acorn Recycling has two types of dewatering equipment which can carry out in situ sludge dewatering on urban waste water treatment plants, industrial plants, septic tanks, aeration basins, lagoons and specialised works. Acorn provides a complete service with all its equipment including, set-up, operation and sludge disposal.
MASKOFLEX Mobile Dewatering Unit
The Maskoflex mobile dewatering unit is ideal for dewatering wet sludges (1-5%) within small to large sized treatment plants and septic tanks. With the sludge automatically loaded on board, the Maskoflex can then easily transport the dewatered sludge (12-18% dry solids) to the disposal destination.Because of the reduction in volume and efficiency of dewatering, the Maskoflex mobile dewatering unit can dramatically reduce the costs of sludge disposal.
MASKOZOLL Containerised Dewatering Unit
For larger municipal and industrial treatments it might be necessary for an on-going sludge dewatering system to work continually to dewater the sludges produced. A static containerised MASKOZOLL unit can be used in a wide range of industrial applications. This patented system, exclusive to Acorn Recycling in Ireland, works in the same way as the mobile dewatering unit above but is available in a variety of sizes to meet any requirement. This system has been used in the food and drink industry and paper pulp industry, as well as for wastewater treatment sludges. Acorn recently installed a large unit in a meat processing plant that treats 75 cubic meters per hour.
Maskoflex 312
This has a polymer system attached which doses the sludge inline. Once it reaches the filterbox it settles and separates out. The water is then ejected through the membrane sidewalls of the filter box after a number of hours. The filterbox can be filled a number of times before the sludge cake needs to be transported. This system can increase the solids from 1-5% DS to approximately 9-12% DS.
Training for this unit is 1 day. This unit is ideal for small/medium sized sewage plants as a cost effective alternative to bulk removal of sludge. We have found this unit to be particularly suitable for replacing drying beds as a means of sludge drying. The unit will dewater 100-150 cubic meters of sludge before the unit requires emptying. Once full it is removed by hookloader and the waste transported directly to the disposal facility. The unit is cleaned and returned for continued use.
